Botanical Illustrations
I'm fascinated by the deceptive fragility of flowers. Individual blossoms exist briefly, but the plant survives to bloom again. They possess the strength to push earth and rock aside in search of the sun and charm us with bold colors and enticing scents. Since ancient times, flowers have been used to express our deepest feelings; everything from love and devotion to sorrow and grief.

Flowers inspire my attempts to sustain their beauty, capturing them on paper with ink, colored pencil and watercolor. Recently, I began experimenting on kraft paper and found myself invigorated by the way the colors pop off the page.

I recently began using my paintings to create jewelry — it's a way to carry a bit of spring and sunshine with me everywhere. I am currently selling a small selection paintings and jewelry through my Etsy Shop, but if you see something you like, or if you have a commission you are interested in discussing, please contact me via the link at the bottom of the page.
